The Deputy General Manager affords over view on the operations of the company in all departments for the day-to-day affairs and the optimization of outputs and gains for betterment of the Company.
The Deputy General Manager thrives the reputation of the company by teaming up with customers, government, community organizations, employees and board of directors
Our company’s prime purpose is to put the premier quality black tea on the global market for our customers’ definite desires so as to lead the exportation of Tea in the great lakes region.
A collection of departments covering the numerous sections of production from Green-leaf fields to the end product of black Tea; the outstanding sales team of experienced professionals with evolution industry relations, solid backbone infrastructure including administration, regulatory affairs, tendering, logistics, warehousing, finances, human resource, marketing and business analysis aids the company to keep flourishing
The government of Uganda is re industrializing and escalating the tea industry as farmers are rocketing their produce which is backing our throughput enhancement on quality and quantity empowering us to be the leading producer in our country and positioning us to swiftly compete on the global market.
The group achievement of International Standard ISO 9001:2015 Certification and UNBS Certification is mirrored in the operations of the tea company, and this reflects our commitment to achieving high standards in all aspects of our tea business (quality production, services offered and customer satisfaction).

Deputy General Manager- Out Growers
The Out-growers Department is responsible for ensuring continuous supply of quality green leaf from the Out growers to the factory
The out-growers Manager is responsible for the following functions
• Recruit and register tea out growers to supply green leaf tea to the factory
• Plan and project the out growers production and inform management for planning purposes
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of green leaf to the factory
• Maintain data and information regarding the out growers production
• Identify and designate green leaf collection points and ensuring proper structures and shades for green leaf collection centers conform to factory requirements
• Ensure efficient collection I transport of green leaf tea from out growers
• Ensure provision of extension services to out growers
• Ensure effective management of out growers credit facility system
• Ensuring effective communication between the factory and the out Growers
Mr. TINKAMANYIRE Frank
Quality Assurance Manager/Production Manager
TMUL produces black, grainy, even and neat teas with bright, strong and brisk liquors.
The production manager coordinates the process flow for the manufacture of Black CTC Tea
Black CTC (cutting, tearing and curling) is oxidized tea manufactured through CTC machine.
The leaf is received at reception where sampling is done to determine the quality of the leaf.

Mr. BESIGYE Med Ya-allam
EXPORTS AND OPERATIONS MANAGER (EOM)
EOM department’s core role is to implement the company’s operational and strategic policies and objectives.
TMUL is the leading exporter of black CTC teas in the Uganda accounting for about 15% of Uganda tea exports
The EOM is responsible the following:
All logistics in the company and feed-back from both local market and Mombasa auctioning;
Good relations with our customers for mutual business growth and unique positioning of our products into markets
Product development incorporates new market changes and needs to develop new products that meet the market demands effectively.
TMUL factory is geographically located in regions with favorable weather conditions for tea growth and unique features that backs our quality and quantity.
We are looking forward to putting orthodox tea on market soon.
Ms. NDUNGE Sophia
Human Resource Manager (HRM)
The HRM is responsible for implementing the Vision of Tea Maria Company through a determined, competent, versatile, and high-performing workforce that operates across disciplines to fulfill the Company’s mandate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The HRM is responsible for developing and maintaining an adequate and competent workforce which operates in line with the developmental goals of the company.
The HRM handles the personnel aspects of recruitment, remunerations and trainings to improve skills, technical competences, quality and productivity of the company workforce.

CHIEF SUPERVISOR (CS)
The quality assurance & product development is done on regular assessments of all teas made to ascertain adherence to the production procedure.
The CS is responsible for the following;
In charge of the overall supervision of the factory
Check the quality of the green leaf being received, how it is handled, up to when it is graded and packed.
Coordinate factory activities and managing daily operations.
The supervisor's overall role is to communicate organizational needs, oversee employees' performance, provide guidance, support, identify development needs, and manage the reciprocal relationship between staff and the organization so that each is successful.

STANDARDS COORDINATOR
TMUL factory operates within the Quality Management System (QMS) & UNBS providing assurance to our customers and quality of our teas.
UNBS and ISO are being implemented to make sure that the right systems are built amongst employees and interest groups
The Roles of the Standards Coordinator are as below:
Create a safe working environment by ensuring all the safety measures are in place
Ensuring that the company is complying with the legal requirements
Create the Quality management plan
This entails the control measures of the company’s processes to achieve the objectives of the management system and UNBS
Create audit schedules
Creating audit schedules that include timelines for certification
Assess ISO criteria
Assessing ISO criteria by evaluating documented information, observing processes, and verifying that practices align with quality objectives
Ensure compliance with security standards
Ensuring compliance with security standards by examining processes, policies, and controls
Conducting audits
Conducting thorough internal audits that assess compliance with international standards and ensures that the Global Village Tea Company Ltd (GVTCL) day -to-day operations follow the required documentation.

Mr. KAMUGISHA Duncan
FACTORY ENGINEER (FE)
The purpose of engineering department at Tea Maria (U) Ltd is to provide specialized expertise in planning, designing, and managing Engineering Services to ensure efficiency, safety, and innovation. These services benefit TMUL by optimizing processes, improving product quality, and reducing costs. Engineering services include consulting, design, project management and maintenance.
The FE enhances operational efficiency of the factory. Designing streamlined processes, reduce bottlenecks, and maximize productivity. Analyze systems and identify areas where improvements can be made, ensuring that resources such as time, labor, and materials are used effectively. Re-designing production lines to reduce downtime or automating repetitive tasks to improve workflow.
Installation and Maintenance of Tea Machinery
Properly layout of machinery following the manufactures guidelines is important in getting the best quality black teas. The FE is responsible for the installation of all the processing and support machinery of the factory.
Machine maintenance in a tea factory is of paramount importance since it influences both quality of products and machine reliability. At TMUL 3-10% loss in production time is due to machine reliability The FE responsible for Maintenance of machinery to sustain efficiency, support operations to improve energy efficiency and Training and awareness creation.
Ensuring Safety and Compliance in Manufacturing
Safety and compliance are non-negotiable aspects of the Tea industry, where risks are high. The FE plays a crucial role in ensuring that operations meet safety standards and comply with industry regulations. The FE is often tasked with designing systems and processes that adhere to strict safety guidelines, reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring the well-being of workers.
The FE develops quality assurance processes and performs risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern.
